There’s nothing like a good story.
Especially one that inspires and moves us to live out the purpose for which we were created. While certain kinds of individuals may come to mind when we use the word storyteller, the truth is that we are all storytellers. We are all saying something to the world with our lives … the way we act, the way we think, how we use our strength and abilities, the way we engage the struggles and challenges we encounter day to day. All of these things impact the message we share with others.
So, what’s your story?
Sometimes life can become dulled. You find yourself going through the motions. Experiencing relational conflict and avoiding difficult situations, you stuff your emotions, and get caught up in a cycle of negative self-talk. Stuck and spiraling, going in circles.
At other times life can be chaotic and overwhelming. You are struggling to maintain control, and metaphorically speaking, trying to hold all the balls under water. You exert lots of energy in the pursuit of people pleasing or trying to get it right or do everything perfectly. All, while lacking a sense of identity and allowing your voice to be stifled.
Questioning your purpose, wondering if there’s more to life than this, searching for significance?
I work with clients who are motivated, willing and ready to take action towards change. To help them gain clarity and focus in their lives and current situations. I collaborate with you to identify ways to engage and respond to life issues in the pursuit of wellness and with the understanding that as one created in the image of God you have great value and worth.
Building a solid and supportive therapeutic relationship in which you feel valued, seen and heard; meeting you right where you are and partnership are at the heart of my approach to therapy.
Together we will explore ways your past might be impacting your present so that you can be better informed in your life choices. Identify the connection between thoughts, feeling, behaviors, physical reactions and environment with regards to challenging situations to help you make life adjustments. Engage creative and expressive processes to help you connect with your emotions, reclaim your voice and cultivate a healthy expression of self.
More specifically, I utilize cognitive behavior therapy, psychodynamic, person-centered and narrative therapy techniques, along with creative and expressive modalities. All within a Christian framework to help individuals cultivate a strong sense of identity, improve emotional health and steward their lives and relationships in a manner consistent with principles and truths that align with the word of God.
Life at times can be incredibly messy. As one who has benefitted from the counseling process and who believes that journeying with others through life is an important aspect of the Christian faith, I welcome the opportunity to come alongside you.

“My family and I have been so blessed to have Roslyn walking through our journey with us. I personally, have learned about the difficult task of setting healthy boundaries and maintaining them.”
“I don’t if there are words that can accurately express my time in counseling with Roslyn. She always showed up and was present and listened to me. She was compassionate and kind and at the same time called me out when I needed it. She helped me process and experience the fullness of my emotions. I learned so much in our time together including how to know myself better and to be excited about the future, whatever it may hold. She is a wonderful counselor.”
“Roslyn provided a safe place for me to explore my identity and self worth in the context of my faith and beliefs.”
