Deep down, every person wants to feel fully known and loved for who they really are. Instead of being yourself, though, you only share the parts you think will bring acceptance, and hide parts you fear may bring rejection. You might have racing thoughts or constant worry. Perhaps you’re wondering if your relationships could be richer and more rewarding. You’re searching for purpose, love, joy, trust, God, or your true identity. Maybe you’re a mom or dad struggling with a difficult child, but embarrassed to tell anyone about it. Do you feel anxious, depressed, confused, ashamed, or lonely? Maybe you just feel numb or bored and are wondering if God meant more for you. If you’ve said yes to any of the above, here’s the thing: Something powerful happens when you feel fully heard by another human being. Part of what led me to become a therapist was experiencing this firsthand. Self-discovery and breakthrough can begin to unfold.
We believe counseling is for all of us – singles, dating, married, couples, parents, and children. Life is complicated, and as humans we all need support in relationship. In working together, we will create a space where you can be raw and honest with yourself and with me. Feel free to vent, laugh, cry, ask questions, write, color, walk around or lay down. We will go at your pace and make your needs the priority. We will get immersed in your story. We’ll identify your strengths, welcome your weaknesses, explore questions, and navigate challenge together. If Christian integration is important to you, we can talk about your faith so we can involve it in our sessions in ways that resonate with you. We might explore the role of forgiveness, prayer, confession, worship, Scripture, or other spiritual tools as part of healing. We will pursue a value for life in community, while acknowledging life-giving relationships are not always easy to find. Whatever you’re facing, we’ll navigate it together so you find strength in connection.
I spent many years keeping parts of myself suppressed or hidden, and never felt free. Now, I can joyfully embrace who I am as a woman, follower of Christ, counselor, dance artist, and lover of travel. I look forward to helping you embrace and embody all aspects of who you were created to be too. My background includes women’s ministry, missions, performing arts, and cross-cultural living. As a therapist, I operate from an attachment perspective – I believe that upbringing, cultural norms, and early attachments impact how we see ourselves and apply meaning to our lives. I know how important it can be to integrate faith and spiritual perspective, and can incorporate a Christian worldview for those who feel it is important. I use cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, expressive, and mindfulness modalities – tailored to what best supports you. No one should have to face things alone. Together, let’s unlock more of the God-given identity and purpose planted inside of you (or your child). I’d love to meet you where you are and pursue your goals together.
