Group Therapy
An approachable, collaborative, and affordable way to explore a particular subject.
How it Works
Virtual
All groups are offered virtually. After you sign up for a group, the therapist will share the information on how to join.
Time Commitment
All groups are six weeks long. Groups run in standalones and series, with series focusing on a topic across multiple sessions.
Therapist Faciliated
A licensed therapist facilitates each group, providing input to promote a dynamic experience and help participants explore the subject matter in-depth.
Group Size
Unless otherwise noted, these groups are between 4-6 participants, which allows all individuals to contribute.
Current Groups
Our group therapy series cover a topic, with individual sessions (called courses) within the series focusing on specific aspects of the topic. Participants can join a group for the entire series or just one of the courses.
Combating the Winter Blues with Art TherapyHost: Robert TurkMake art together and learn creative ways to get through the winter season
Winter is approaching and like many of us here in Chicagoland, you may be struggling with the winter blues. At times, it may feel like you are dragging your feet through this season. As the days get shorter with reduced sunlight, this can easily lead to lower mood and symptoms of depression, known as Seasonal Affective Disorder. SAD is more normal than you may realize. According to Mental Health America, SAD impacts over 15 million Americans each year. If this is you, consider joining me in making art and learning together some creative ways to combat the winter blues. You don’t have to be an artist to enjoy this art therapy group workshop. All skill levels are welcome. Remember, you are not alone in this season.

BoundariesHost: Roslyn JordanNo matter what you’re working on or stage of life you’re in, it always seems that life comes down to boundaries. Adults learn and grow in their ability to set and keep
boundaries within the supportive environment of a group who are all learning to do a hard thing.

Setting limits for healthy living and relationships
This group aims to benefit participants who often find themselves overcommitting, over-functioning, and feeling guilty for wanting to draw a line in the sand and say no. Participants in this group will learn what it looks like to set limits with love, own their choices and take responsibility for their lives while allowing others to do the same.
Beyond Boundaries - Knowing when it’s time to reconnect and build new relationships
So you put up boundaries and have spent time getting healthy and healing but how do you know when it’s time to take steps to reconnect or build new relationships? Beyond Boundaries is a 6-week psychoeducation/process group for those who understand the value of boundaries, are learning to set limits but struggle with trusting others beyond the hurt. Participants in this group are invited to assess strained relationships and consider what it means to take healthy risk towards connection or reconnection and trusting again.
Conflicts - Identifying and setting loving limits in relationships
This group explores the nature of boundary issues in key relationships and provides insight to help participants gain a healthier sense of self while working to resolve relational conflicts and move towards healthier relationships.

Unpacking Dependency
Are you walking on eggshells out of fear of what others might say, do or feel? Feel the constant need to fix and rescue others? Caught up trying to do all the right things to be pleasing to others? These and other characteristics are at the heart of codependency. In this 6-week group, Unpacking Codependency, participants will learn about key aspects of codependency and identify characteristics of codependency at work in their lives. They will explore their past and present to identify patterns underlying their codependent behaviors and thinking. Participants will complete interactive exercises for homework and have an opportunity to process material in group.
Codependency - Learning to Let Go and Live Your Own Life
Codependency: Learning to Let Go and Live Your Own Life invites participants to redirect focus from rescuing others to learning to live their own lives and getting their needs met in a healthier manner. This group helps participants to challenge beliefs and unresolved emotions as they explore getting their needs met in a healthier manner. Participants will complete interactive exercises for homework and have an opportunity to process material in group.
What to do with your one way relationships
What To Do With Your One Way Relationships helps participants to identify components of unhealthy, imbalanced relationships and consider what it takes to move from codependent relationships to interdependent relationships, characterized by mutual care, accountability and commitment with others. Participants will look at the level of their current relationships and consider what adjustments are needed to bring greater balance to the relationship or to realize it’s time to let go. Participants will complete interactive exercises for homework and have an opportunity to process material in group.
